In today’s contemporary society, parental expectations on children to triumph academically are impulsively high. While parents might want to accomplish their unfulfilled achievements and guarantee family security because of financial uncertainties by putting a huge strain on their children, I believe that this school of thought leads to obnoxious feelings such as, anxiety, conflict between parents and children, and therefore it is negative.
Economic concerns are the main reason for some parents. Many of them cannot fulfill family needs and hence they try to focus on their children’s academic pursuits. Moreover, to feel parental pride, some want to show off their children’s accomplishments with their relatives and people who they have a relationship with. Triumph in education brings a great deal of joy and gives the opportunity whenever parent wants to start a conversation with people about their children’s pursuits in education. For example, a vast majority of parents in my country have no resistance to working all their lives to provide their children with the best available chances for succeeding academically.
However, outperforming of parental involvement in children in performing well in academic institutions, ends up in obnoxious consequences that include feelings like anxiety, disillusionment, and conflict in the parent-child relationship. It is some parents who exaggerate the entire period of academic success of their children and put a huge pressure on. Not only do parents cause a big strain on their children, but they sometimes compel their children to study the subjects, in which their children are not even interested in. Having no interest in the academic subjects which are picked up by parents, children of those cannot perform as expected in education. For instance, the average parent in Uzbekistan wants their children to pursue studies in subjects that are not selected by them, and they do not only give the chance to choose to study subjects for children, but they also want to see high results from children.
In conclusion, while the academic triumph of children in education might solve the problems attributed to finance in a family, a huge pressure installed by parents results in children experiencing feelings that are anxiety, disagreement and controversy. In light of all above-mentioned considerations, I can easily proclaim that this is a negative development.
