Advertising has taken a front seat in today’s increased methods for sales. Good advertising often leads to people buying a certain product that they do not actually need. I partially agree to the statement above and I will jot down some points below to support the same.
Some brands have lately been running such amazing ad campaigns that it leads to the customer into believing that they actually need the product. It is an exceptional sales strategy that leads to the growth of their business. Although at times the deal may or may not be profitable to the customers. Individuals have started to comprehend that the better the advertisement, the better will be the product. It leads into them thinking they will miss out an outstanding deal, product or service, making them grab the opportunity. For example, if they see an ad of men applying deodorants, and looking cool in front of their friends and women around, it will lead them into believing they will need it to look cool, and them purchasing it out of the fear of missing out.
But also on the other hand, I have seen individuals budgeting out the month and listing out exactly the list of items they would need. They do not budge or spend extra upon seeing ads, and rather stick to their list and carry on with what they had planned. For example, if a person is saving up for a bike they will keep a budget so they do not spend extra and save up for their dream.
So, I would like to state that the act of purchasing from the ads certainly depends on the individuals mindset, and their goals for the future. An easily manipulated person would end up giving out more than required because they think it will make them better, whereas someone who is smart enough, knows it’s just a trap and doesn’t get manipulated by the ads!
