Nowadays, more people choose to marry in their late twenties or early thirties. Personally, I find this statement positive, because at those ages people are emotionally and psychologically mature, and also usually financially stable.
One major benefit of getting married around the age of 30 compared to early twenties is having significantly more life experience and overall maturity. Youngsters tend to make impulsive decisions due to unfamiliarity with how to behave in this type of condition. People in their thirties are less likely to fall for this, just because of showing greater patience and keeping their mind cool in challenging situations. Having more real-world experience leads to wiser choices in careers, relationships, and finances. Also, it is widely accepted that they have a stronger sense of responsibility, because they think more about the future and consequences instead of short-term pleasures. And lastly, people in their third decade are more self-aware. They tend to be more reflective and aware of their goals and values; and they often think about the impact of their actions on others and the environment. Nevertheless, it is true that younger people have better physical privileges like larger amounts of energy or higher-quality fertility.
Another advantage of late marriage is financial independence and a higher career level. Emerging adults are at the starting line of their career ladder, which means that they are financially unstable, and their income can often fluctuate. Referring to the first paragraph, they are more likely to make impulsive financial decisions and waste money on short-term satisfaction. Also, mostly young people are strongly dependent on their family’s financial support. So parents or other relatives are controlling their spending. It is even common to live with parents at this period of life. Finally, in their early thirties, people already have a specific career level. It also means higher social status, having a bigger friend circle or the right connections. So there is always someone, except family, who is always ready to help.
To conclude, young people may be better in reproductive aspect, but mental maturity and stable finances are more important for a successful marriage and relationships overall.
