Today, we are witnessing the trend that a growing number of couples get married and deliver babies in their 30s instead of the second decade of their lives. However, I believe that this is a positive shift overall, but before arriving at a conclusion, both views must be discussed.
On the one hand, getting married and having children at an older age have numerous advantages. Firstly, delaying marriage and childbirth helps couples gain hands-on experience in their lives. This experience can be gained by traveling, working, and living in different surroundings. Ultimately, this phenomenon makes youngsters wiser, calmer, and mature enough, and these younger ones take on better roles in romantic relationships and parenting in the later phases of their lives. Secondly, maturity plays a crucial role in boosting financial stability in an individual and enabling them to learn about depositing money and making financial decisions wisely. As a result, mature parents are capable enough to afford costly baby items and spend on babysitting and nanny services. In Asia, for example, a survey conducted among the youngest couples who participated in saving money for their child’s schooling and daily expenses or livelihood revealed that the financially prepared couples were highly resilient to raising their child from birth to high school.
On the other hand, married couples after the age of 30 develop complications associated with pregnancy. For instance, in older couples, it is commonly observed that the rate of fertility declines due to their age, which affects the quality of sperm in males and the quality of eggs in females, resulting in infertility. However, these consequences can be mitigated by following proper diets and nutrition.
In conclusion, many people get married and have babies after the third decade of life. These people can devote their crucial time to acquiring maturity and transforming themselves into experienced and financially stable individuals. This trend is contributing to society positively; nevertheless, the negative impacts of age on pregnancy can be overcome by proper diet and nutrition.
