Nowadays, it has been widely noted that the traditions and customs associated with the food we eat, also the way we eat them change increasingly. The issue whether this tendency is positive or negative has long been a controversial debate. As long as I am concerned, these two opinions seem to be conflicted but advised to take a closer look to at both sides before giving a proper viewpoint.
There are several reasons for the trend of changing the customs and traditions according to the food and the way we eat. The major issue is that the development of the industry, especially affects the urban area. With a hustle lifestyle, residents tend to choose everything that only take short time to do, even in eating. For instance, people will prefer junkfood, when them only taking about 15 minutes to prepare, whereas a traditional meal can take over 4 times longer. The enormous workload force them to choose more wisely. Another contributing factor is globalization. It means the spread of some cultures may affect the cuisine of other countries. A good illustration is that with the Hallyu wave, more and more inhabitants in the world eat Korean food, like Kimchi and Soju wine. Therefore, the change of customs and traditions in food may rely on the change in people habit and also the mixing culture.
There are several reasons to believe that it is a good effect. Firstly, it seems that this development in food is suitable for the worker, and they will have more time to concentrate on their task, contributing to the growth of economics. There is ample evidence that with recent studies, Americans only spend time for their meal 0,2% a week, and obviously, their economical growing magically. The second point is that the change in traditional and customs relating to food supply for the folk more choice in their meal. As a result, it is positive.
All in all, the reason why we have this trend and my opinion have been noticed. Personally, I agree that this change is positive, but I feel it is highly advised to have more robust evidences to support this point of view.
