Unknown natural destinations are increasingly sought by tourist. I believe this trend has its own ups and downs which will be detailed in the passages below.
On the one hand, exploring remote beaches and mountains are suitable for challenge-seekers, who like travelling through forests with rocky to no paths at all. The journey is rewarded with more pristine nature and less crowds of tourists which popular destinations could not offer. These places are also more affordable compared to other well-known places to visit. For example, Lombok, the neighboring island of Bali, where one of the tallest mountain in Indonesia resides, Mount Rinjani, and the serene untouched coastlines, can be accessed just half the price that of Bali’s. Going to Bali where not only high-traffic roads are inevitable, but also queues of tourists present just to reach a destination, can be ovewhelming for people who are looking for peaceful holiday.
On the other hand, visiting through difficult roads just to reach certain unknown places poses inherent risks. With no legal stand, remote areas rarely provide tour guides or safety personnels, which danger the tourists themselves. Take the wild habitat inside thick woods where live tigers and boars. These species might cause harm to people who unknowingly pass by their territories. The lack of guards in the area also shows possible threat from fellow humans, such as runaway criminals, who rob people to survive another day inside the woods.
In conclusion, while remote places offer unworldly scenic views and experiences no other popular destinations could have, the risks also follow along in regards of the safety of tourists. Meticulous planning and self-awareness are most considered before journeying to unknown places.
