There is a growing trend where more and more children are becoming overweight these days. While this can be largely attributed to lack of physical activity and unhealthy eating habits influenced by advertisement. I believe that the problem can be effectively addressed by encouraging children to exercise regularly and limiting the availability of harmful foods.
One compelling reason why many children suffer from obesity can be lack of physical activity. With many young people spending hours to play video games, scrolling through social media, watch TV, they do not burn any calories they consume during the day. The direct results of this are not confined to reach more wight but also extended to weaker physical development, ultimately resulting in mental health problems such as low confidence and depression
Another factor contributing to this issue would escalate to poor dietary choices. As many young people are influenced by TV commercials and online ads that promote sugary cereals, junk food and snacks, they develop unhealthy eating habits from an early age. As a result, they often consume more calories than needed, thereby not only increasing the risk of obesity but also causing long-term health problems.
Therefore, lack of physical activities and unhealthy eating patterns can be the most driving forces behind why childhood obesity is on the rise
