The rising population is considered to be the major problem being faced by our world. Some believe that in order to resolve it genetically modified foods are the best solution. I absolutely agree with that because of the credibility and the accessibility factors.
First of all, Genetically Modified foods have already proven their credibility. Day by day our markets and shops are being filled by these types of products. We can often encounter genetically modified vegetables and other essentials such as bread, milk and eggs. What’s more, even in the earliest years of its introduction, there were no massive regulations or public protests against it. That means that the ordinary people agreed with it being on their tables or children’s lunch. For instance, nearly 80 Percent of the Food Produced In the US Contains Some Kind of Genetically Modified Product.
Second of all, it is always easier and faster to produce any genetically modified foods. Often requiring big farms and extensive human labour and the right season, completely natural goods are harder and longer to produce rather than GMF. Moreover, most of the countries do not have a place to have their own fields, where to grow lettuce or apples. In that context, it is better if we rely on the easier and faster way of creating the food. Doing that we can provide the people with lots of goods in a shorter period of time. As an example, the Bt corn field might produce 30–40% more usable corn due to fewer losses.
In conclusion, this essay believes that considering our ever-expanding population, Genetically modified foods are the only most sustainable, adequate and relevant answer.
