The idea of reading news from online platforms vs in the form of newspapers has been a subject of considerable discourse. I posit that keeping both the print and online version represents a far more better appropriate alternative.
This stance crystallizes when considering the fact that not all readers have access to digital platforms. Many individuals, especially the older generation with limited internet connectivity living in rural areas, rely solely on print newspapers to read daily news. Therefore by stopping the print version would lead to alienating a huge set of audience with no internet connectivity.
Furthermore, by keeping both the format of news versions we can accommodate a diverse audience. Some readers like a tactile way of reading news by flipping the pages of newspaper, while others would like to read the news with the help of advanced multimedia applications like Inshorts which not only provide video format of news but also provide the gist version of the topic.
In conclusion, keeping both print and online versions of newspapers is the best approach to accommodate a variety of audience and needs of its readership while also maintaining the other revenue stream and inclusivity.
Thank you for considering my input on this matter.
