The idea of reading news from online platforms and reading news from the newspaper has been a subject of considerable discourse. I posit that as the technology is increasing day by day and we can find more valuable content online as compared to offline therefore, stopping production of print versions of the newspaper represents a far more appropriate alternative.
This stance crystallizes when considering the fact, several resources can be accessed with just a few clicks while using a computer. However, with the help of advanced technology and new upcoming applications in mobile it is easy to access news of any particular topic, region and country. Likewise, by reading news online one can also listen to the video format of the news while doing other work.
Furthermore, online platforms offer gist versions of the news. Hence it becomes easier for the reader to read a plethora of news in a small amount of time.
In the light of the preceding argument, I maintain that reading news from newspapers is still opted for by people who don’t have access to the internet or a smartphone. But as the technology sector is growing day by day people are more inclined to read the news from online platforms.
