There is a view that shops should be prohibited from selling food and drinks that are scientifically proven to be harmful for human health. I fully agree with this notion for several reasons.
One reason behind the ban unhealthy food lies in their direct impact on public health. Products high in sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats are strongly linked to obesity, diabetes, and health disease. IN the past, people consumed mostly natural meals, which resulted in fewer lifestyle-related illnesses. Today, however, highly-processed food and sugary drinks are widely available, leading to poor dietary habits. Take the regular consumption of soft drinks in the United States, for example. Many people who drink them frequently gain excess weight and are at higher risk of developing diabete. Restricting the sale of such products would likely help prevent these health problems and improve overall well-being.
Additionally, the removal of unhealthy food from shops would likely encourage people to adopt healthier lifestyles. When harmful food is widely accessible, many consumers tend to prioritise convenience over nutrition. However, if shops were required to sell only healthy products, people would likely develop better eating habits. For instance, certain schools have implemented strict rules against snacks, sugary drinks, resulting in better student diets. Over time, such rules may encourage healthier eating habits across society, contributing to higher energy levels.
In conclusion, I completely agree that shops should not be allowed to sell food and drinks that are can threaten health. Public health and promotion of healthier lifestyles would probably reduce a lot of health diseases
