Band 6+: Ordinary people try to copy famous personalities by seeing them on TV or reading about them in the newspapers. What is the reason for this?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Media has influenced every person’s life in many ways. These days people try to imitate their favorite celebrities, whether their looks or lifestyle. This essay will elaborate on the reason for this, and whether it is a good tendency or bad.

To begin with, there are many reasons why the masses want to imitate the famous personalities. One of which is these celebrated influencers have a huge social media following for which media platforms award them. This influences people towards them that they can also receive awards and be invited to luxury parties if they follow their idols. Most of all when the masses see the luxurious lifestyle of their idols, they tend to see the opportunity to create the same lifestyle for themselves as well by imitating them. For reference, most of the trips and vacations these influencers take are paid for by the brands and companies they are promoting which they get paid for. However, to the common eye, this experience seems like a glittery dream that they want to live one day because of which they copy their most-liked personalities.

Furthermore, it is also a known fact that every individual has different financial situations which vary from time to time. Following someone blindly just based on what they show online can lead to serious consequences. For instance, a recent survey done by Youth of World showed that 85 percent of young individuals are leaving their jobs and careers to go into content-creating online. Of these 85 percent, only 15 percent are successful, and the rest of the individuals are struggling even to put food on the table. Thus, copying someone is not a good tendency without knowing the facts and consequences on your life after.

To conclude, imitating someone famous is not a wise choice if one has not considered all the outcomes that it will come with. Every individual should be also to make their own goals and plans rather than being in a sheep race.
