Governments across numerous countries are converting art galleries and town halls into modern buildings. In my opinion, I reckon that this approach would remove the history of the people of those nations.
Removing historical places has negative consequences. Therefore, governments remove local history and they architect new urban cities, but it has the biggest bad impact on humans’ whole lifestyle. For instance, in Rome, the government once destroyed some of the heritage properties and replaced them with new modern architecture. Many residents of Rome shared their feelings that their city has lost its own identity.
Moreover, due to some political issues, people have to lose their language and historical heritage. My nation has a history of such problems. Almost a hundred years ago, we had to destroy some of our historical monuments to gain independence. This, unfortunately, led us to abandon our historical things.
On the other hand, these ancient places could play a significant part in the tourism business and the local economy. Tourists come to these destinations to visit such ancient places and spend money on food and a hotel, however, new buildings would not attract anyone. Furthermore, in some countries, tourism accounts for almost sixty percent of their economy, and the country’s population usually speaks an international language. This has a positive impact on people’s personal development. For example, France, Italy speak their national language and English because they need to speak in class to promote their history, which is a reflection of the quality of education in those countries.
In conclusion, I believe that constructing modern; however, our history is more valuable for our future.
