Band 5+: Parents should be punished for making their children fat. Do you agree or disagree

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

obese should be penalized for their children’s obesity. The essay disagrees with the statement because genetics play an important rold in deciding people’s weight and ít is difficult to monitor what their children eat during the day when they are not home.

The primary reason to support my opnion is that obesity is caused mainly by genetic traits. This means some genes will affect the metabolic rate in body, leading to challenges to control the weight whatever diet they follow. People having those genes have tendency to gain weight more easily than who donot or have difficulty to lose weight. One recent research revealed that majority of obese children suffer from a genetic disorder, leading to the fact that parents are unable to control their children’s weight even they pay attention to their diet or workout routine.

Another reason to reinforce my argument is that it is difficult for parents to control their children’s food consumption contantly. it could be because when children go to schoolw or go out with friends, their parent are not there to tell them what food is appropriate to consume. Those children when going out or lack of parents’ supervision can eat some unhealthy food affecting negatively to their health if they have it for long time. According to recent report, the large number of children suffering from obesity exceed the caloric intake by consuming high fat snack or milk tea during school hours. In this situation, parents should be blamed because it could be out of their hands to control their children food.

In conclusion, I do believe parents should not be given the punishment for their children’s weight gain because obesity can be innate and parents are unable to supervise their children diet when they are not home.
