A recent study in 2024 reveals that, the world’s latest breaking news is being published over social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and X(previously known as Twitter) much sooner than television stations. Many people believe that these social apps will completely replace the traditional methods of receiving latest updates from news stations or newspapers.
Nowadays, every person has access to mobile devices which is a small device with high-speed internet and several social applications installed in it which makes it possible to share all kinds of information including latest news over internet in seconds. Because of these devices, the communication and spreading or sharing the latest information all around the world is possible just by a click. It also provides a platform for people to interact and express their opinions about the updates.
However, before the invention of mobile devices or these social networking apps, people used to sit in front of Television to watch news. There are many TV channels who broadcast news such as CNN and Aaj Tak. There are still many people who listen to radios which is one of the traditional ways to get the latest updates.
In conclusion, with these trending social platforms, It is possible for people to get breaking news and updates within seconds even before tv channels; still it is not going to fully replace the traditional broadcasting stations as they are changing and adapting themselves with this tech advancement. They also have accounts on these platforms which keeps their existence in both places. There is still a large number of people in big countries who prefers to watch news on TV. So, In my opinion, social networks are not going to replace news channel completely.
