One of the widely discussed issues nowadays is related to better conditions in the modern era compared to the past. I completely agree with this point of view primarily because people nowadays have enhanced technologies that make our lives more comfortable and significantly improved the quality of medicine which prolongs people’s lives.
Firstly, modern technology makes our lives easier and more comfortable as mentioned earlier modern technology has introduced various machines such as washing machines, car devices, gadgets that make life easier. For instance, kitchen appliances such as the Thermomix help people cook multiple dishes at the same time, saving time, energy and effort. Another example is that smartphones and other digital devices have made life more convenient by helping people work remotely, stay connected, manage daily tasks. Moreover, nowadays people can instantly call, message, have video meetings from anywhere, watch videos, play games – all in one device. This level of convenience was impossible in the past, making modern life significantly better.
Secondly, medicine has improved and continues to advance; therefore, healthcare opportunities have drastically improved, allowing people to live longer, healthier and better than ever before. To take as an example, due to these technological developments life expectancy in Japan has increased by approximately 20–30 years. Another example is, Germany’s advanced healthcare system, which provides high-quality medical services and treatment. Many people from different countries visit Germany for procedures and expert medical care, which was not available in the past.
Having weighed everything mentioned above, I would conclude that people living in the 21st century have better living conditions than in previous centuries, due to technological and medical improvements, modern life has improved significantly compared to the past.
