Having a family and having children is a source of great joy for individuals. However, there are many people who are opting to have children at a later stage in life. In my opinion, the advantages of having children at older ages do not outweigh the disadvantages, despite the fact that it has some benefits.
First and foremost, giving birth at an older age has many risks. Women can face a lot of issues of health such as high blood pressure or diabetes.Another significant challenge is newborn babies can have many dangerous complications such as a higher risk of premature birth and low birth weight.Genetic risks appear more frequently during pregnancy as women age such as: congenital heart defects, respiratory diseases, early obstructive digestive disease, leukemia… and typically among them is down syndrome. Another disadvantage of delaying parenthood is the potential challenges parents may face as they age. For instance, older parents may have less energy and physical stamina to keep up with the demands of raising a young child, which could affect the child’s development and well-being.
Nevertheless, delayed parenthood does come with its share of advantages. One significant advantage of having children at an older age is that families are often more financially stable. This can provide children with a number of benefits, such as access to better education, healthcare, and extracurricular activities. Furthermore, children born to older parents may have access to better education. This is because older parents are more likely to have higher levels of education and income, which can provide children with access to better schools and educational resources.
In conclusion, delaying family planning can offer advantages such as stable finances and better education. Nonetheless, it outweighs its drawbacks when risk, dangerous complications and difficulty to raise.”
