Celebrities is the ideal model for individuals to imitate because they are inspirational people and have great influence on an audience’s purchasing decision. Therefore, I firmly believe that this trend is entirely unbeneficial. This state below will discuss and give my own view about this phenomenon.
Nowaday, numerous popular celebrities on social media platform are promoting varied types of products on their personal profile to attracting a large number of consumers and the reason why most brands invite blogger or vlogger to advertise their items is simply because of their prestige and popularity. If they become a brand ambassador, their fans will believe that these goods have high quality and they will spend a large amount of money just to have an opportunity to use couple items with their idol despite of the fact that those are unnecessary wares. In addition, there are some points of view told that following fashion trends created by public figure is not only a good way to demonstrates their admiration and love but also a great chance for them to highlight personality and style.
Beside, majority of brand appeal to shopper’s psychology so they can easily make the individuals spend as much money as possible. Although this spending is not thoroughly bad, but when we constantly buy unnecessary things, it can affect seriously to our economy because the products which advertised by blogger or vlogger often have exorbitant prices so it hardly suitable for everyone’s economy conditions. For example, the cosmetics from YSL or Dior have considerably higher purchase number than other cosmetic brands due to the fact that their representative face are Rose and Tiso, who are the member of Blackpink and have a huge fan base so their fans willing to use money to support for their favorite celebrities and hope to receive the attention from their idol.
In conclusion, in my opinion I believe that celebrities have a significant influence on individuals purchasing decision because they can impact negatively on consumers but if we don’t want to waste money on unnecessary goods we should look for its information clearly before make the decision.
