In today’s fast-paced world, the need for relaxation has become more crucial than ever before. There is a school of thought which holds that it is advisable to relax by watching television rather than participating in outdoor activities. My personal perspective aligns with this claim in light of several aspects.
To begin with, unwinding by means of watching TV is instrumental in enhanced learning efficiency. Indeed, some specialized television programmes contain contents which are presented in an inspirational and appealing way to learners, motivating them to strive for progress. For instance, the feelings of being overwhelmed and bored caused by stereotypical and labyrinthine formulas and equations may be alleviated by watching videos related to realistically illustrated mathematical problems. These types of clips not only spark learners’ interest and curiosity but also become huge and invaluable sources of practical knowledge. More importantly, watching TV exposes learners to differing viewpoints, helping them identify loopholes in their knowledge and develop a holistic approach to problem-solving. For example, the YouTube channel Mark Rober, renowned for its practical experiments and detailed explanations of physics, helps viewers solidify and expand their knowledge. Overall, it is undeniable that watching TV enormously aids learners in the pursuit for knowledge acquisition and increased learning proficiency.
Some people express a different point of view that watching TV is a waste of time. Nevertheless, it is my firm belief that only becomes possible as a consequence of a lack of self-discipline and timetables assisting in drawing a line between learning and entertainment. Besides, even if watching TV is time-consuming, it serves as a necessary break from homework. This, indeed, helps learners relieve stress and stay more focused on studying.
To recapitulate, in light of the aforementioned aspects, unwinding by watching TV indubitably results in improved learning productivity as it not only assists learners in the quest for knowledge attainment but also becomes a means of relaxing for them.
