Band 6+: reviews both position of applying the tax and giving subsidies to healthy food by government

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Consuming a massive amount of junk food can cause health issues. Junk foods cause different diseases. This trend suggests that the government should consider this problem from two sides: giving subsidies to subtract the prices of healthy food and applying taxes on unsanitary food. In my opinion, both are the best ways to combine in tandem.

On the one hand, I agree that the government has a vital role in resolving health issues. It would resolved through giving subsidies for healthy food. Half of society is considering the price before buying the items. Hence, it has become an appropriate way to attract healthy food customers. For instance, junk food is provided at a low price, half that of nutritious food. As a result, people in several countries prefer to buy healthy food due to its cheap price. Moreover, junk food is a common habit worldwide because it tastes delicious. To resolve this, the government provides subsidies to distract people from choosing healthy food. Therefore, it would lead the government to spend its money through subsidies rather than only on unusual things.

Based on the statistics, the amount of society that is suffering from diseases caused by junk food has continuously increased. The diversity of diseases such as cancer, stroke, and obesity has raised the number of deaths. Adding a tax on unhealthy food creates an opportunity to decrease the number of unhealthy food customers. For example, several countries have taxed junk food restaurants such as KFC, MCD, and Pizza Hut. People who have expected salaries prefer to restrict themself from buying expensive items. Ultimately, customers of unhealthy food would decline by period. Additionally, it has beneficial to growing economic and increase county profit through taxination.

To begin with, I am unconvinced that grades can completely encapsulate an individual’s true capabilities. There are many other critical abilities that cannot be precisely quantified through traditional exams, such as creativity, communication, […]
