Nowadays, there is a trend of rich countries becoming wealthier and the opposite happening with poor countries. This essay will discuss the main causes of this trend and propose some possible solutions to this problem.
The two main causes of economic differences between countries are unequal opportunities for residents and a lack of support from government. The number of affluent people in wealthy countries is much higher, which means they have the resources and money to succeed in their occupational fields for the country’s economic growth, such as business, owning real estate, managing large companies, and so on. Whereas, in poor nations of the world, people are scratching and scraping for a day-to-day existence with a lack of money and opportunities, which leads to poor education. For instance, poverty in India is a clear representation of low-status people’s living conditions. Due to the lack of possibilities to find at least an average-paying job, children are forced to labor for a living instead of receiving an education at school and further in university. It creates a scarcity of qualified employees, leading to economic downfall. Additionally, government, considering the economic level of the country, do not provide financial aid to poor families. Because of that, people have no alternatives other than working at low-salary jobs.
One of the possible solutions to this problem is creating more opportunities for the unprivileged part of society, such as accessible exchange and internship programs, or by encouraging wealthy nations to create new workplaces, which may lead to an improvement in the quality of knowledge and, thus, life overall. Furthermore, salary increases on regular vacancies would serve as a motivation and an enrichment of people’s lives. This way, people will be more satisfied with the quality of their living conditions, and the economy of poor countries can be enhanced.
To conclude, a huge gap in the economic prosperity of rich and poor countries is caused by differences in people’s standards of living. However, government can significantly influence this by providing financial contributions and increasing wages with new workplaces.
