Education enables individuals to excel in all walks of life by enlightening them.It is often thought that studying academic subjects is more productive than learning optional subjects such as music and sports.I consider this emerging issue on a serious note and stress on emphasizing the practical value of studying compulsory academic subjects with less share of music and sports.
To commence, teaching academic subjects help scholars to apply theoretical concepts in real life as there is a wider scope of such subjects in any field. For instance,Professionals like Engineers,Doctors,Teachers and Accountants serve the society by applying valuable knowledge, gained through subjects like Mathematics,Science,English and Economics.
Moreover, an addition of extra co-curricular activities put undue stress on learners and they encounter with various other problems such as health issues, lack of motivation and run out of time.As a result, students will not be able to cope up with the prevailing challenges. To exemplify, an intelligent student with a high score in academics is affected negatively with poor performance in music and sports, which can be reflected badly in terms of theoratical subjects.
However, music and sports add variety to the subjects and make the study interesting by lowering down the monotonous environment. It is also noteable that these subjects should be kept under a certain category of curriculum called ‘Optional Subjects’ as handful of individuals might choose them or make career in the future.
In conclusion,it is widely accepted that academic subjects deserve more attention with an adequate weightage in the syllabus from the career aspects that too without any extra burden by making music and sports as optional subjects.
