Health plays an important role in all humans. Hence, it is important to take care of our health by all means. Some individuals take up private health insurance while the others use the free healthcare provided by the government. In this essay, I will be writing as to why I believe that individuals should rely more on private health insurance compared to the government’s free healthcare.
Private health insurance can be expensive, but not as expensive as the hospital bill. To ensure one has private health insurance, one has to make payments monthly or quarterly etc. Insurance can cover 75%-80% of your total hospital bill, leaving you with just 20% to pay from your own pocket. In addition to this, having private health insurance is a blessing, especially for individuals who make frequent hospital visits. For instance, a person who is recovering from Dengue has to often make visits to the hospital for blood tests and other tests if there’s complication in the recovery. Without insurance, the bill would cost a ton for the individual. Therefore, private health insurance would be the best option.
On the other hand, people who live paycheck to paycheck, cannot afford private health insurance as it requires payment on a regular basis. For such individuals, the government’s free healthcare would be beneficial. By comparison to private health insurance, the government’s free healthcare can be seen as the best medical security option for people who cannot afford it, as they don’t have to spend a single penny. A very good example is families who are below the poverty line, do not pay much attention to their health even if there’s something wrong, mainly due to the expense. But through the government’s free health, they can look after their health without having to worry about the cost.
In conclusion, government’s free healthcare is like a golden ticket for certain people who are unable to have insurance due to their financial state. However, if you want the best care for your health, private health insurance is the way to go.
