Nowadays most people believe that parents should oblige to immunise their children to against childhood disease. However, few people think that individuals have the right to choose wheter the children will be given immunisation or not. Personally, I prefer to choose the statement which constrains the parents to immunise their children. This essay will look at two reasons for this and propose some examples.
One of the main reasons of the statement is that immunisation is essential to help the body’s immune system by providing power for the body to fight germs. Most people know that children are exposed to thousands of germs every day. The germs infect to children’s body through various ways such as toys that they play with, food they eat, the air they breathe, and the things they put in their mouth. Consequently, accumulation of the germs they get from various activities will cause childhood disease.
The second reason is vaccines that children obtain from immunisation are tested to ensure they can be given safely and effectively at the recommended ages. It will help to prevent germs from multiplying and becoming disease. Moreover, Department of Health in every country especially in Indonesia has conducted lab testing to ensure the safety. In fact, some people tend to reject immunisation because they hesitate content in the vaccine will be harmful for the body.
In conclusion, parents should immunise their children due to two reasons such as importance effect of immunisation to strengthen the body’s immune system to fight germs and the safety of vaccines to avoid germs turn into disease. Therefore, these are helpful and give benefit not only for children but also their parents. My view is the main responsibility for encouraging the parents lies with the government.
