There’s a relevant controversy about studies at schools. People debate if students should be taught about future life skills or concentrate on their academical learnings. Regardless of the importance of basic subjects, I believe that schools should focus on giving students life lessons, which play a bigger role in their successful growth.
Academical studying expands the overall knowledge and provides an opportunity for getting an education. Basic material given in schools is helpful in various life situations, and it helps students to determine their preferences. For instance, math and language grammar are used daily, which makes them essential know. Additional studies like science and literature do not suit everyone because each student has their preferences and weaknesses. If they choose to study one particular subject they mostly understand, they’ll try to link that to their future career. However, it is related only to professional fields, and might be unnecessary for most of the time. Being educated does not mean being ready for the incoming future, which requires other life skills besides school information.
Practical capabilities are crucial for facing a grown-up life. They help to adapt, be resilient to difficulties and solve the challenges ahead. Schools should teach students about real estate, loans, buying properties and so forth. Research shows that young people are not aware of the aforementioned processes, and it leads to scamming and making unacceptable mistakes. They are often not able to establish the consistency, being forced to learn how to make decisions and avoid serious blunders at the same time. That is the reason they should start preparing for their future at schools, diminishing the risk of being taken off guard.
Although academic subjects are significant in becoming more intelligent and successful, life skills makes students prudent and more careful. Schools may try to create a balance, but I believe there should be a clear focus on giving life lessons because they provide a better future.
