Recently, some argue that social media has impacted communication the cutting-edge era. While social media offers several benefits to developing communication and exchanging viewpoints, I disagree with this statement. While social media offers some benefits in communication, I believe its negative impacts are more significant, such as the decline in handwriting skills and the risk of online fraud. Social media has undeniably changed the way we communicate, offering both opportunities and challenges.
Social media provides an opportunity to make friends and become more knowledgeable about countries. not only to learn about their countries, but also about their citizens, cultures, and traditions, also assisting in gaining extensive knowledge. For instance, some individuals cannot travel overseas because they do not have money and their personal or work life demands it . However, they are given an opportunity to obtain data regarding other places through virtual platforms.
In spite of the notions above, I would argue that the downsides are outweigh the disadvantages than the advantages. The main drawbacks are the disappearance of handwriting abilities and the possibility of being deceived by fraudsters. First and foremost, a large number of people prefer computers and cell phones rather than letters for exchanging ideas or providing exam papers. As a result, they are losing their handwriting skills. For example, two months ago, in the presidential elections, their votes were not taken into account because their signatures in their passports and the signatures on the election documents did not match.
In conclusion, in light of the arguments given above, I am of the opinion that although social media platforms have some advantages, there are many more drawbacks impacting personal life.
