It is often agrued that taking care of health and diet is the responsibility and individuals while other that governments should make sure their citizens live healthily. Both arguments have some validity, and I will explain them before giving my view.
Firstly, many people think that individuals themselves should be responsible for their well-being. People have the freedom to choose what they eat and how they live, so it is their duty to make wise decisions. For instance, someone who eats vegetables, drinks enough water, and does regular exercise can remain healthy without depending on others. In addition, individuals who take care of their own health reduce the burden on the healthcare system.
On the other hand, governments also play a vital role in shopping public health. They can regulate food companies , limit harmful products and raise awareness through campaigns. For example, banning advertisements for junk food or sugary drinks can encourage people to make better choices. Furthermore, by building hospitals, fitness centres, and green spaces, governments provide opportunities for citizens to live a more active lifestyle.
In my opinion, both individuals and governments share equal responsibility. Individuals must make daily decisions about their diet and exercise, but governments should guide and support them by creating a healthy environment. Without cooperation, it is difficult to achieve long-term improvements in public health.
In conclusion, individuals should care for their own bodies, but governments should also create conditions that make healthy living easier. A combinations of personal responsibility and government support is the best solution.
