Work is an essential part of every person’s life. Some believe that a lot of individuals pick up a life doing work in which they have no passion for.
Many people pick up a job in which they have no interest just for the sole purpose of earning money. In a capitalistic country, its very difficult to survive without earning money and if one does not earn money then he/she might end up below the poverty line. In order to survive and support their families, these individuals take up work which they dislike or hate. For example, in India, some employees of service based companies like TCS, Infosys, etc take up a software engineering job just for the purpose of earning money and avoid being un-employed. Also, in some cases, family pressure force these indivisuals to take up a work which they do not like. Some families in order to maintain their status in the soceity, force their young generation to pick up a career which they do not enjoy. For example, in India, many parents force there children to become engineers or doctors without asking the children what they actually want to do.
People face a lot of problems in their life when they do a work which they dislike or have no interest for. Many face depression as they daily think that they need to do a work which they do not like for the rest of their lives. They feel stuck in their jobs and start to isolate themselves from soceity. In severe cases, this depression leads to self harm and sucides. For example, recently a employee working in multinational company Wipro took his own life by jumping from top of the office building as he was hating his job. Such incidents caused due to working in a field that a person dislikes not only has a severe impact on the person’s immediate family members but also on the organisation where they work.
In conclusion, many individuals go through a life doing work that they dislike due to family pressure and the sole purpose of earning money. This action results in depression, stress and in worse cases even sucide.
