In recent years, countries in the world have more and more interactions and communications. Therefore, many people think that it is the best way to understand the local culture in a foreign country by learning their language. In my opinion, I totally agree this view.
Firstly, people can know the local customs, traditions, and knowledges when they try to learn the language of a new country. Because so many information is included in the language, such as some novel things in that country with the specifical words. If they learn these word, they can get the culture behind it at the same time.
Secondly, people can communicate easily with a local person when they travelling to a new country if they have understood the local language. They can speak with a waiter for ordering foods what they like in a restaurant and also avoiding foods what they dislike due to understanding the menu. Because to know the local foods is a part of leaning the local culture.
Finally, some people think that they can use the translate equipment instead of learning the foreign language. Unfortunately, from my experiences, those quipment give the wrong or uncorrect result frequently, and that may cause a bigger mistake of understanding. Besides, the translate just give the lightly meaning of the sentence usually, it cannot express the culture behind that.
To sum up, since learing the local language have those benifits in understanding the local culture, I strongly believe that it is the best way to know a new coutry’s culture by studing the proper language.
