İt is argued that, prohibiting smoking in society and in governmental organisations takes our free choices. İ completely disagree to this statetement since, smoking in public can cause passive smoking as well as it doesn’t restrict our opportunities as will now be examined.
First of all, smoking near other people can cause them to be exposed by a passive smoking. Obviously, passive smoking expresses, if someone is smoking near other humans, subsequently they will inhale the smoke of ciggarette. Then, the detrimental effects of smoking will damage the organism of other living beings nearby even if they don’t want this. So, it is almost the same as smoking. For instance, the famous actress Milla Jovovich was affected by passive smoking in studio, after 1-2 days she deteriorated because she had an allergy towards ciggarette. Thus, it is a right decision which restricts smoking in public, as people can be affected by secondhand smoking.
Secondly, in my view, banning smoking in society doesn’t limit our freedom. İt is clear that, there are some rules in the working environment and one of them is prohibiting smoking. Certainly, it doesn’t restrict our options, since there are other places people can smoke such as their homes, certain places constructed in order to carry out this action and so on. For example, in airports, shopping centers, there are special places provided for these people. İn a result, restrictions of smoking in some places don’t mean that, we lost our right to smoke, as there are other places for this.
To conclude, i strongly believe that, banning smoking in all public places is a great idea, because it protect other people from passive smoking and it doesn’t limit the freedom of smokers.
