Parents play an important role in their child’s performance in school. However, some parents give no encouragement to their child whereas others may imposed too much enthusiasm on them. In my opinion, I think parents should provide support for their child when they are struggling and not impose any ideas on them.
Sometimes, some parents may have high expectations for their child to do well in school and so will put lots of pressure on them to ensure that they excel in their studies. This is because parents do not want their child to suffer once they grow up. For example, the parents might have suffered alot when they were younger thus they do not want their children to experience the same thing as them. So, ensuring that their children perform well at school might give them a greater chance of success once they grow older and have to fend for themselves.
As mentioned above, I think parents should only be the pillar of support to their children. This is to allow their children to make mistakes when they are younger. This also allow the children to learn from their mistake so that it will be easier for them once they come out to work. Hence, I do not think parents should impose their ideas on their offsprings as this would only make them feel caged in and do not have the freedom to do what they want.
In conclusion, parents should not be overly enthusiastic nor should they be disinterest in their children’s performance at school. Parents giving advice and support to their children would be the best outcome possible.
