Irrefutably, the phenomenon of setting a dress code in various businesses and corporations is ubiquitous across the globe owing to its vitality. People often have a dichotomy as to whether this scenario offers more merits or demerits. Whilst, I firmly assert that the merits of such a tendency are much larger, the downsides are ignorable. This essay will evaluate both facets of this matter in the forthcoming paragraphs.
Needless to emphasize, there are multifarious advantages to wearing uniforms in the workplace. The primary benefit under key consideration is that it creates an atmosphere of discipline and uniformity in the organizations. As a result, there would be no discrimination among the employees in terms of clothes. Another outstanding benefit is that setting a dress code in some places like factories and warehouses is also essential to ensure the safety of the staff. For a paradigm, jewelry, big nails, nail paints and long hair are not allowed in the bakeries. Even, in factories, the workers have to tie their hair to avoid the injury.
Moreover, it is mandatory to be uniformed in some organizations because a dress code sets the tone of the company. For an instance, formal business attires are worn by lawyers and business professionals in order to show their professionalism.
Contrastingly, can we overlook the appalling sides of this trend? Certainly not. The preponderant setback is that wearing same clothes daily can be monotonous for the employees. Additionally, it is disadvantageous because of the fact that it can be an expenditure for the staff. Some businesses do not provide uniforms to their employees, so they have to purchase it before starting their work. Sometimes, few personal use to change their jobs, so it would be a lose of money for them.
To conclude with, after an in-depth analysis, I put my credence in the fact that setting a dress code in some firms is immensely beneficial to maintain discipline and to make sure the safety of their workforce. Whereas, the downsides are negligible. The companies should provide uniforms to their staff and they should keep on changing their dress codes once in a year.
