Nowadays, although some countries are convinced that building specialized facilities to train top athletes instead of providing sports places that everyone can use allows them to achieve international success, I strongly believe that its disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
First of all, sports play an important role in improving everyone’s health, so that sports facilities would be an ideal place where people can practice anytime and not be distracted. Sports facilities offer essential devices such as a pitch for football players, a racket for people forgetting theirs at home, and so on. This is why focusing too much on top athletes can make others suffer from lacking these, even if it is no longer feasible for them to take part in sports games because of not having suitable places. Besides, there is no denying that specialized facilities to train top athletes might create conditions for them to enter competitions with professional experts and players of the same level, which ensures that they can progress rapidly. Socializing with others is a great opportunity to perhaps learn something or gain experience from amateurs such that they can face up to challenges and overcome them. So, specialized facilities will consume a lot of money but may bring the same effect as sports facilities for everyone.
To sum up, I am convinced that building specialized facilities to train top athletes is a negative development. Instead, we can boost places where everyone can join, thereby increasing their physical health.
