On the contrary, there are also countries that do not limit anyone from getting the drinks. Thus, this is a relevant question concerning the policies of both sides.
One of the important obligations that governments put forward is providing for people’s well-being and helping to increase the life expectancy of each individual. It is undeniable that alcohol is a form of addiction that harms both people’s mental and physical health. As a result, many countries have similar laws regarding illicit beverages. These laws are expected to help people not get accustomed to any kind of drink and to help them realize that life is fragile. Therefore, the average age for getting permission to buy alcohol is above 21. Certainly, there have been cases when teenagers would make fake IDs to overcome this legal system, and it is only one example from numerous other kinds; however, this policy has been working for ages and has hardly ever failed.
On the other hand, it doesn’t mean that all countries have a similar point of view on this issue. Some believe that age is not a limit and it doesn’t matter whether people reach a particular age or not; they can always buy whatever they desire. This kind of concept is believed to assure people that they have their own right to make decisions that don’t depend on anyone’s opinion, even the government’s itself. Nevertheless, people under age have immature minds due to a lack of life experience; as a result, they may not be in control of their risky purchases, which can lead to addiction, health problems, and so on. Therefore, sometimes the law may not be effective, even though it had been potentially planned to make people’s lives independent.
To summarize, countries that have strict rules and countries that do not may look completely different and opposed to each other. However, both of them have one thing that brings them together, and it is to make their people’s lives full and conscious.
