According to some educationalists international exchange of students positively affect schools. Although, some people hold the view that exchanging visits have benefits, and I believe that there are some drawbacks that need to be noticed.
By the time, the number of students who want to study abroad or experience international exchange visits increased for several reasons. First of all, life-long experience attracts more and more people to go for exchanging students visits. Meeting new people, seeing those famous buildings evoke the feeling of excitement and over-indulgence. It is a great chance to change scenery. Moreover, it is a good opportunity to exchange cultures and ideas with other students. Becoming familiar with a certain student’s nationality and its traditions help to broaden horizon. Also, this gained information students can use in project assignments or essays. Second of all, development of language skills is the chief reason of students going abroad. The foster family and school friends could assist you improving linguistic knowledge. Day-by-day a student enhances his speaking and almost becomes a native speaker. For example, a student girl from IKNOW ACADEMY had a chance to study in one of the high schools in US. As a result, she has life-long experience and educational improvements.
Having said that, there are some drawbacks that worth to be considered. One of the disadvantages of international exchange visits is homesickness. Students might have some problems with adapting to new environment, people and host family. A the beginning until they until they get used to new place hey feel alone, as a result it leads to stress and a problem of isolation. Moreover, cultural shock scare students. Anxiety, confusion and discomfort occurs when people happen to be in the new environment and unfamiliar surroundings. Another drawback is safety. Everyone is rushing to be a participant of international exchange program, regardless safety. All countries or cities has its criminal rates. So, unfamiliar streets, places might be attacked by criminals. For example, students from US were travelling to another countries college where they have been attacked by inmates. They were rubbed and some criminals charged female students.
In conclusion, while exchanging visits in rare situation do not provide with safety, and students have some personal problems, advantages like learning more about new culture, experiencing new environment and education, also changing scenery outweighs regardless its drawbacks. So, more and more students have desire to be a participant of this program.
