It is arguable that economic progress requires an aggressive approach with our surroundings. While, many people believe that we can do be more gentle and smarter with our only home in this universe till now. I, along with others reck on the possibility of acheiving both, the prosperity and the ecological wellness. In this essay, I am going to discuss both views.
On one hand, nations have built their welfare historically on exploitation of their natural resources. Thus, this imbalance has destroyed many regions and a lot of natural systems have been depleted for our sake. Furthermore, industrial age pioneers thought that its obvious to use water, rubber, forests, iron, oil, coal and whatever they had to maximize their productivity whatever the results. In addition, the financial charts of many companies and countries went over the moon. Despite this methodology achieved its goal, but we have suffered for decades from consequences in our lungs, eyes and brains.
Conversly, balancing between both approaches might be managed through wise governance. So, all what we need is to promot the eco-friendly projects and their products in the markets. Also, I think the change is already happening now. for instance, the annual numbers of electrical vehicles has significantly increased in the last five years. Obviously, we could notice the developing awareness in people’s mindset towards their planet.
To sum up, if we don’t change our behaviour as a community, the next generations will face the same challenges we have encountered. Adopting and standardizing our industrial practices aren’t easy procedures, but they are the challenge that we have to believe that we need to overcome. Our technologies take centuries to reach this point that we can use for the benefit of the next generations’ wellbeing.
