Some Individuals think that the main purpose of public libraries should be to save historical documents and rare books, others argue that libraries should evolve into community hubs which gives digital technology and social services. From my perspective these both views by the people contains logic. These views are related to the modern needs of knowledge.
First of all by preserving historical documents and rare books by the libraries can play a vital role in the study of history and archaeologists. These studies are showing ancient civilizations and historical assets linked to our forefathers and ancestors. For instance, libraries can provide historical documents and rare books to the students, by reading both of these they can do research and print articles about history. As it is the need of many countries for promoting their country’s tourism, these studies can help the society to explore more tourism sites globally.
Secondly, there is a crucial need of social services and digital technology in our society. Libraries can play that vital role by providing these facilities in the people live’s. By helping and providing options of technology to the younger generation, it can open the gates of success in many fields. To exemplify, students can achieve goals in the field of ai, robotics and in advance technology.
In my opinion, both views have their own benefits and can perform different type of functions in society. Library should perform it’s actual work and with this it should also provide these facilities to the individuals of society. Multifunctional libraries can provide numerous facilities to the people.
