Technology has dramatically changed the method of communication in the past few decades. While some hold the idea that it has helped us stay together, others oppose this belief.
Technology has turned the world into a global village; as a result, it is easier to form relationships from anywhere in the world. For instance, one can easily make friends in the USA or elsewhere from Bangladesh through social media without any hurdles. Moreover, it is easier to check in on one another through Facebook, Messenger, or other mediums. For example, if anyone’s relative gets sick, they can easily check on their health; there is no need to travel thousands of miles to visit them.
Conversely, technology is undoubtedly a double-edged sword; it has brought some negative consequences with it. Relationships nowadays are becoming weaker due to a lack of interaction and communication among people. Previously, individuals used to visit one another’s houses in order to keep in touch, and as a result, both their minds and relationships would stay stronger, which is barely seen in the present days. Physical interactions have nearly and somewhat completely been replaced by technology. Additionally, people are more prone to conflicts in present days. To illustrate, when I was in my junior high school, it was a common scenario among teenagers to get into fights just because of not reacting to one another’s Facebook or Instagram posts, and consequently their friendship would fall apart.
To sum up, I strongly believe that advanced technology has helped us in a significant way in forming and maintaining relationships even though it has some drawbacks.
