Some people believe that music has a significant advantage for people and communities while others argue that music has many drawbacks for them. This essay will discuss both perspectives and I will share my opinion in balance on that matter.
Music has a wonderful sound and everyone loves listening to music and no matter their backgrounds, from their education background or the people’s age. Music is able to bridge those gaps. This is beneficial for people to create new friendships. For example, people in the world visit the jazz annual festival in Bromo, East Java, Indonesia which is held for a month. The ultimate experience for them is having a group of jazz music clubs which the members come from the visitors of the event and from around the world. As a result, after making good interactions between them, this may lead to business agreements or professional networking for their career.
On the other hand, some parents consider that music leads to bad impacts for their children. The excessive listening to music can reduce children’s concentration, making children lazy to finish their school responsibilities and affect their academic achievements. The other reason is, why some teachers dislike music due to the students copying the lyrics of the music which contains negative words or bad meanings. In the long run it affects the teenagers’ behaviors and less of respect to the older people.
In conclusion, I believe that music brings positive impacts to individuals who have a lot of diversity and the fact outweighs the disadvantage of the music itself.
