Band 6+: Many cities are replacing cars with bicycles. What are the reasons for this ? Which do you think is better

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In the contemporary world, vehicles have become widespread, and most cities depend on cars as an essential transport method. However, in other places, bicycles are more prevalent. In this essay, I will examine both developments before giving my own opinion.

To begin with, the cities that depend on cars have reasons such as high-quality infrastructure, suitable fuel prices and include cloudy weather. These factors make people usually depend on cars rather than bicycles, most of these cities improve the roads to be secure, For example, in some cities in North Africa they struggle with the hot climate throughout the year, which prevents them from using a bicycle and leads them to drive vehicles with an air conditioner. This development is common in urban areas where people need convenient transportation for their activities.

On the other hand, some cities are increasingly replacing cars with bicycles for reasons. Cars have detrimental effects on the environment. In contrast, bicycles have no effect on the environment and have a lot of health benefits. For example, some city governments impose several taxes on cars to encourage individuals to use bicycles. However, all these reasons vary from city to city. In addition, bicycles can be useful for short journeys and can help people avoid traffic in areas. This can make travelling easier.

In conclusion, both cars and bicycles have merits and demerits. However, using bicycles is crucial to addressing the climate change crisis and mitigating carbon emissions. This can improve people’s health and quality of life.

Many cities are replacing cars with bicycles. What are the reasons for this ? Which do you think is better

With urban density and well-maintained road infrastructure, individuals are inclined to prioritise cars over bicycles. In recent years, the rising global demand for energy has sparked intense debate over whether untouched regions of the world should be opened for oil and gas exploration. While some argue that this is necessary to meet energy needs, I completely disagree with this view, as it causes severe ecological harm and delays the transition […]

some people believe that younger family members should be legally responsible for supporting older family members when they become physically and mentally and financially unable to look after themselves. To ehat extent do you agree or disagree?

The question of whether younger generations should be legally mandated to support their aging relatives when they can no longer care for themselves is a subject of intense debate. While enforcing this by law ensures a safety net for the elderly and reinforces traditional family values, I believe that an absolute legal obligation could place […]

In some countries, students pay their college or university fees, while in some others, the government pays for them. Do you think the advantages that the government pays the money outweigh the disadvantages?

In contemporary society, university tuition fees are covered by some governments, while in others, students have to bear the cost themselves. Although government-funded higher education can place a considerable burden on national finances, I believe its long-term benefits outweigh this drawback because it can promote equal access to education and contribute to economic and social […]

Many people argue that in order to improve educational quality, high school students are encouraged to make comments or even criticism on their teachers. Others think it will lead to loss of respect and discipline in the classroom. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

It is argued that by encouraging secondary school students to guestion and critisize their teachers, the educational quality can be fostered, while other people are concerned that this may have adverse effects, such as disrespectful to the teachers and exacerbating disciplines. I support the view that with the help of asking and suggesting own ideas, […]
