A small percentage of people argue that all experimentation on animals should be illegal. However, others believe that important scientific findings should come from animal experiments. I believe that animals should be experimented on before trials are conducted on humans. While many people oppose experimenting on animals, it is much safer than testing on humans first.
Testing on humans before conducting experiments on animals could lead to unsafe outcomes and result in numerous casualties. On the other hand, if we continue to experiment on animals, it’s important to consider the types of animals we choose. We could potentially focus on species that have less ecological significance and are primarily raised for food, as their populations are already managed for consumption.
Scientists have made significant discoveries through animal experiments, benefiting humanity with advancements such as vaccinations that contribute to improved public health. When we consider the positive aspects of animal experimentation, it becomes clear that there are many more benefits than drawbacks. Currently, there are no viable alternatives to animal testing; therefore, it remains the safest option available.
If we were to stop experimenting on animals, our knowledge base would gradually decline, as few humans would agree to participate in scientific studies. This could lead to the proliferation of viruses, negatively impacting human populations. In conclusion, testing on animals is more relevant than testing on humans. I agree that scientists should continue to conduct experiments on animals because it is the safest approach available. Without animal testing, we could face a decrease in both scientific knowledge and population health.
