Nowadays, there are still some people who think it is worth it to spending money on art. From my personal prespective, I lean toward the statement that state expenditure should be used for arts as it leads to an investment in the future, together with providing an outlet for expressing feelings.
Beginning with, it is crucial to apparent that the arts are both a window into a culture’s history and an expression of the unique personalities of the citizens of a country. Art is like a film that records the entire history of mankind through paintings, sculptures and books dating back hundreds of years. Take the Egyptian Pyramids as a telling example, the Pyramids are undoubtedly the symbol of ancient Egyptian civilization, easily making tourists from all over the world flock to there, boosting the economy in a high level. Such is why many governments continue to fund museums and exhibits in their own countries for they can showcase their own heritage and culture and inspire future generations.
On the other hand, art has always played a role as a means of relieving stress and expressing human emotions. In addition, art is also a bridge connecting people around the world regardless of language, culture and race. Furthermore, much evidence has shown that the arts have the power to reduce crime, enhance social cohesion and solidarity. In particular, in hospitals, scientist found that art as a method of supporting patients’ spirits, from simple songs to small plays, has improved their condition, health and added motivation to fight the disease.
Simply put, general public should raise funds for preservig museums so that they can protect their original culture as well as advertising it to the morden world.
