In this fast-paced world, job switching is becoming a crucial issue for many people around the world. Some people assert that job satisfaction is fundamental, while others believe that monetary factors and other financial rewards are necessary. In this essay, I will discuss both views and give my personal opinion in favor of the former view.
Turning to the first, more than money, the mental well-being of a person is mandatory in any field of activity in life. When elaborating on these factors, job satisfaction gives a morale boost and a sense of motivation to a person, which supports them to work effectively. For instance, world-renowned organizations such as Google, Microsoft, and Apple provide various motivations to their employees through intrinsic means more than extrinsic ways. They believe that this form of inspiration would help their employees perform effectively and efficiently in any task, and consequently, it will definitely enhance the productivity of the organization. Secondly, this provides a work-life balance for people. In many organizations, employees are struggling to manage their personal life and career life, which will significantly affect not only their career life but also their personal life. Therefore, money is not as important as job satisfaction.
On the other hand, people believe that money can solve any kind of problem they might face in their life. First and foremost, it supports people to live their life better and financially stable. When considering the stability of people’s finances, many individuals have different kinds of commitments in their life, such as family or personal. In order to manage those finances, obviously, they need to have good financial support. Furthermore, this provides some sort of long-term security, which will help them to save money for their future commitments, such as retirement, medical necessities, etc. Thus, money could play a backup role in people’s lives.
Although there are several reasons why money is important than job enjoyment in the workplace, I believe that mental relaxation and relief can only be obtained from job satisfaction. This also tends to focus more on career growth as well as personal growth. While this might help the organization to retain their employees and achieve their organizational goals.
To conclude, money gives happiness and security for a certain period of time in an individual’s life, and employment relaxation is a long-term enjoyment physically as well as mentally. Therefore, I believe, in terms of motivation and productivity, job satisfaction is important.
