People have different views on whether parents need to choose their children’s friend or wife or whether they must do this by themselves. Both of these schools of thought could be true in their own right, but I agree with the latter opinion.
On the one hand, it could be beneficial for children if parents help them choose friend or wife. Since, parents lived more than youngsters and gained more experiences over years about individuals’ behavior, not least because, they might discriminate them and give their personal suggestions to choose a loyal partner. Moreover, there are number of youngsters who are not able to make a choice in that they may hesitate and will make wrong decisions. In Uzbekistan, for example, mothers play an important role in choosing wives for their children and many males marries the girls which are recommended by their mothers.
On the other hand, children need to choose friends or future wives by themselves. Although mothers and fathers could assist in finding partner for them, they do not live with them. If they depended on mothers’ decision and converse with individuals who are preferred by their parents, they may live with them not for their love, but instead, for families’ decision; and as youngsters do not find them by themselves, they will not lead a happy life with strange people. For instance, in Japan, families do not interrupt when adolescences find a wives or husband so as not deteriorate their children’s future lifestyles.
In conclusion, while parents’ decision could be important for adults in such cases, children have to do it without any external suggestions.
