Some individuals argued that scientific research get controlled by the government, while others beleived that private organization steeped in the shoes. In my perspective, the governce has the power to control this regulatory body. I will justify my comment in the later section of this essay.
Research in STEM play a pivotal role for a country to improve their livelihood in each section e.g. agriculture, military power, diplomacy, hunger crisis management, medical sector etc. So basically it’s totally depend on researchers who spend their maximum lifetime for new innovation. But where’s a twist it could be use in both ethical and unetical ways for instance, bioweapon war, nuclear weapon devlopment etc. So it should be monitored by a strong regulatory body so that a new innovation can save lives rather taking. In addition the regulatory framework could be implemented by the local administration and their selected committee to varified each new discovery in STEM. In contrast, Private limited corporation only focuses their profits. The prominient example is USA, their country’s economy is sparked because of weapon dealing in war polluted country.
In the opposite scenerio also can be seen, in private companies also granted a numerous amount for the scientists, so that they can invented or sophisticated the technologies or any type of researches in any stem, which is maximum times unavailable or limited by the government. For example, Covid-19, which get hitted in early 2020 and massive disaster occured, swept almost one-third of the population. The vaccines production process fastened because of the private corporation investors, where scientist get freely focused on their goal, show their imagination to real life solve problem.
There are lot of merits and demerits, but in my view the researches could be conducted by ethically , which is only possible when govern bodies stepped in.
