It is true that urban and rural region can cause barriers to social progress because people access uneven quality education. I totally disagree with this view. I believe that advancement of technology already solved this issue nowadays. In this essay, I will demonstrate that while limited opportunities could cause obstacle to social progress, the development of technology address this situation.

In the past few years, comparing to the city, limited opportunities could be found in rural area. This is because geographic barrier cause lack of resources, such as qualified teachers and infrastructures, which create a gap between knowledge and skills, restricted their future opportunities. For example, there are some places located eastern part of Taiwan that school cannot hire enough qualified teacher due to inconvenience transportation cause most teacher do not want to come. As this result, this is difficult for students to receive same quality education as urban regions.

Recently, the telecommunications and transportation improvement, however, eliminate the barrier to social progress that gaining knowledge or information will not be the main problem. People who lives in rural areas can browse internet to learn what they want. Also, transportation ways become more and safety than before. For instance, distance learning increasing the chance to gain knowledge and this way is also becoming popular these days as well. People will not worry about the unequal quality education in different places any more. Besides, the government also invests on transportation like roads and railway reconstruction. These efforts eventually reduce the gap and it impact on social progress.

Summary, although accessing unequal quality of education is on of the barriers to social progress, I firmly believe that the barrier already disappear because telecommunications technology development and transport improvemtn can bring convenience that diminishing the diverse of education.
