Nowadays, some people argue that the MZ generation is more idle than the post generation. They claim this generation does not realize the value of money, just settles for the present. I am of the opinion that college students who have part-time jobs are more diligent than others. This essay will spell out the reason why I agree with this statement.
Firstly, having part-time jobs makes students gain social experience. It is well known that knowing how to cooperate well is a crucial ability for social members. The situation of part-time jobs lets them foster this capability. In my experience, I could emulate how to define my position gently when I am in different circumstance. Due to the nature of Korean culture, the majority of people agonize constantly about observing the proprieties for their counterparts. In this sense, the experience of part-time jobs will be helpful in everyday life.
Secondly, it improves financial sense; the major problem with college students is that their consumption habits are profligate. From my point of view, earning money by oneself leads students to use money responsibly; they can notice its worth because making money is as hard as students think it is. For instance, budgeting their expenses themselves – food, transportation, and entertainment etc. – helps them improve their ability to manage money efficiently. Based on my own experience, I opened an installment saving account and learned how to save my money effectively while feeling a sense of accomplishment. As a result, by working, students can perceive the value of money, rectifying their spending habits and the lifestyle of laziness.
