Crime rate around the globe is increasing rapidly, leads to an alarming societal issue. Recently crime rates among young people have enormously grown. Under the law enforcement, all criminals are treated as one, raising the argument of punishment including the minors.
In my words, punishment among young committers must be dealt under a separate organization. As children have underdeveloped brains, leading to arousal of hormones and emotions. These triggers lead to crime, in BBC Australia June edition; it is clearly mentioned that most teens do choose violence on the basis of peer pressure or certain mental illnesses. The edition further marked importance of counseling among such criminals. Various countries have initiated the scheme of teaching youth the control over emotions with future consequences of an ethical society.
Instead of physical punishments, juveniles should be taught the disadvantages; such illegal services due to their life styles and society. This would lead to exposure of how calm and meaningful life is with positive deeds rather than negative. According to a clinical psychologist from Chinese crime and service department, the juveniles often respond better to therapy rather than being caged in a cell. Resulting in more work on brain developing programs instead of forcing societal ethics to children. Furthermore, Michael Shaun mentioned, various response he received on the comparison of isolation and moral building on a child’s brain.
Immature mindset under wrong influence often instigates wrong deeds. Teenagers under pressure often cause trouble but punishments are not beneficial under such age group. Instead, explaining them the boundary between right and wrong is majorly required.
