Most people think that the best way to acknowledge economic growth is to buy imported goods. However, the rest of them believe that utilizing local products by producing or consuming is a better way to increase global economies. As an ordinary citizen, I believe both sides have their own perspectives due to the current financial problems in this world.
Each country has their own ability to produce particular things. For instance, Japanese are advances in technology development. In evidence, Japan’s universities are renowned for their engineering faculty. Therefore, the government has made a contract with many countries, such as Indonesia. They helped Indonesia to build Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) for public transportations. Thus, Indonesia offered natural resources, such as rice, wood, herbal plants, and so on for Japan. This is why people think that global trade truly helps countries to fulfill their necessities economically.
On the other hand, others think that depending too much on imported products will not urge people to develop their economy. These products bring foreign to introduce their own cultures and potentially the locals will be faded throughout the year. In fact, traditional culture has already disappeared now as technology advances. Many engaging contents are now showing their products through social media. Consequently, local citizens will buy those items and do not represent the traditional ones. This reason will harm economic growth in each country.
In conclusion, both perspectives give reasonable statements. It all depends on the citizens themselves, how they can maintain and filter those obstacles. The countries can still trade goods but also introduce the products that are made by their own countries.
