I opine that social media and the internet have the upper hand of providing up to date facts about every arena of life. This essay will shed light on both the notions along with the justification of my opinion.
To embark on, a handful of people believe that the newspaper is the optimal medium for receiving global news. According to them, newspapers are the most convenient and affordable way of gaining knowledge about the incidents happening around the world. Moreover, they feel that information provided by the newspapers is more credible and concise. To illustrate this, the reports in the news journals are published after so much verification and investigation, and are therefore, more likely accurate in nature.
On the other hand, however, there are numerous reasons for choosing the online media for news by some people. Firstly, a person can collect knowledge about global events in just one click and that too with both audio and video options. Secondly, due to their hectic schedules, people do not get much time to read newspapers. Hence, checking news on their smart phones is more accessible in this fast-paced world, even while commuting.
To recapitulate, although I agree that newspapers are the important means of providing information, but I concur with the fact that at times, when we need to quickly catch up with the world, online media has an advantage over traditional method.
